Our Thoughts

Our life is what our thoughts make it.

The wrong is wrong viewed in our thought ‘s vicinity:

Asoka the Great, won the glorious Kalinga war:

His thoughts viewed it a crown of.flesh of humanity.

Act on good thoughts instantly, defer not till

tomorrow.

Tomorrow’s sun to you may or may not rise.

The distance does not matter nor the traits of

Journey.

The first step is dificult, it must be wise.

Life is fragile and it does not pace with time,

Unless we obstruct rain on noble thoughts.

Struggle against ill-thoughts sharpens our skill.

victory flows to clean minds, with failure to all knots.

One may not have what one ought to like.

One must pave the ways to celebrate what one holds.
Kites rise against the wind and not with it.

One with noble thoughts rises against all the odds.

Java is everywhere

It is an interesting quote I read while installing Java on my laptop. We have heard ‘God is everywhere’. But how java can be everywhere. In the present world it can?
Java is the programming language that is being used to programme almost every device. See around you. The computer or tablet or phone on which you are studying this post is programmed java. The web browser you are using uses java. All smart TVs have java. iOS or android or windows or Mac uses java. Their apps are built using java. Linux OS is entirely based on java. The new trend of smarter watched wiulw not have been possible without java.
Java resides in many things around you. From your washing machine to your phone, computer, traffic lights, internet , even on your car.
The best of java is in the fact that it is the best Object Oriented Language. That means it is best to represent the real world things and their attributes .
Like a dog is a real world thing and barking is one of its attributes.
Java have excellent security mechanisms for the body machine. Most important it is easy to learn and is completely free. So after the softwares needed like Netbeans IDE.  It is available to anyone with the will to learn.
If you are interested try this
http://www.homeandlearn.co.uk/java/java.html
It may not relate to kind of things I blog. But java had become an I indispensable part of my life. I just wanna share it. After all java is hidden to make eyes but it is everywhere .
May be even God  is using java to programme the universe. (like Matrix reloaded).

Mother nature is not even targeting us

On   I was sitting at my home studying for upcoming exams, just then I felt the bed is vibrating , and so does the floor and everything around. Wah! What was happening. A 7.9 earthquake struck Nepal and the entire northern India including Delhi (where I live). The vibrations were low in Delhi. But it continued for more than 2 minutes. I speculated that some place would not have been so lucky.
The epicenter of the earthquake was at Katmandu, Nepal , a country that was not at all ready for such calamity. Till now dearth tool has reached above 10,000 and increasing. Three is how damage to infrastructure and reconstruction would be worth about 60,000 crore rupees (10 billion dollars i.e approximately 40% of country’s GDP).
Nepal is a poor country full of poors . This calamity has featured everything for many. More than 1.4 million children are homeless, cold and hungry. Millions are relying only on uncoupled noodles for food.
Why all this to the most vulnerable? Why mother nature showed its wrath on these poor people? Mother nature should be living and caring. When you look at those people anyone will doubt this.
So does mother nature is not do divine, not do loving and caring, not so mother like. She brings earthquake, tsunamis, feminine, eruptions killing millions and destroying everything for millions more. Separating the families, killing dear once, destroying someone’s home. This is not what we except from a mother. Do we? Mother should be exact opposite.
So do we abolish the phrase mother nature ? Do we start believing that there is nothing divine about mother nature? Does humanity is an orphan ?
If you agree on this you w will change your opinion in next 5 minutes. Just read till the end .
Do you know how much energy is released during a normal earthquake? It is really more than 10,000 times the energy released when Hiroshima was destroyed by the fat boy(code name of nuclear weapon that destroyed Hiroshima during world war 2). Yes you hear it correct. That much energy. Even a cyclone have energy around 2-3 thousand Hiroshima bomb. A tsunami easily have energy of 1,00,000 Hiroshima bomb. What that means. Even a normal earthquake have the potential to destroy 10,000 cities.
But does any calamity in the entire human history has done such case destruction. No, because otherwise humanity will not be thriving on earth. I believe that we would not even present on this planet. Human race would have been extinct thousand of years ago.
We are fortunate that mother nature is not specifically targeting us. Otherwise………
We humans give too much importance to ourself. May be we are at top of the food chains. We are most intelligent being. But we all know how much we are dependant on nature. We are a very small civilisation at the corner of the vast universe. We areusext to nothing when compared with mother nature.
But mother nature doesn’t think like that. She considers us her dear children. She had given us the air we breathe, tthewater we drink, solid earth to live on – perfect conditions to live a good life.
Then why these calamities come. This is because even mother nature sometimes require to release some pressure. Do you know if an earthquake have never happened in human history. Earthquakes are result of movements of tectonic plates. Only way to stop earthquake is to stop this movement. But this movement is important for recycling carbon that is an essential condition for life. In big planets like Saturn or Jupiter where there is no tectonic movement for to very strong gravity , life will be not possible (even if they have all other conditions to support life).
Hence, whatever mother nature does is for the well being of her children. There is colletral damage in everything. We have to understand that mother nature have very big responsibly of maintaining this universe and all her children. She cannot love only a few.
May be you have lost someone dear in a natural calamity(I pray that out is not so), you may find my opinion offensive. Try to put your self at the place of mother nature. You will feel great power. But with great power comes great responsibility. This is one of the greatest law of nature that it cannot break itself.
Even then she tried to protect us as much as possible. Like in Nepal earthquake 10,000 people died and in Hiroshima more than 1,50,000 people have for in the nuclear blast.
Mother nature have given us so much and what we have returned. Ecological imbalance or global warming. Harming her other children. Do you think she will tolerate this. All this calamities are just a small warning. Warning for us to rectify out mistake when it is still time. Else we will be punished. Mother nature will protect life at any cost. Even if cost is our extinction. She has done this before (like when dinosaurs proceed to be threatening to other life forms they are blown away) , she will do it again if necessary. It is better if we improve before that.
May be we cannot stop any natural calamity but we can at least help those affected by it. This way we can show her that we are deserving of her love and much. Pray with me that soul of all who lost their life in Nepal earthquake may test in peace in the lap of mother nature and born again from her womb to live a happy life and serve their fellow beings.
Thanks for reading. May you have a blissful life.

Papa – a simple life of great endeavor

image

My family is quiet well off from the blessings of Krishna and of course Papa. We have everything we need and luxuries want. Just 2 hrs ago I was watching a movie on our Bravia Led tv. Just now I was playing Counter Strike condition zero on my DELL laptop. Now I am writing this blog on my Xperia Z1 smartphone.
Papa has provided us with everything we need. From our basic needs to be costly luxuries.  But there was a time when my family was not so well off(much before I was born).
Around half a century ago, in 1957 papa was born to an extremely poor mother (Amma – my grandmother).  It was the time only 9 years after the India Independence.  The circumstances of the country was not good. The economy is its in its initial stages. There is large scale unemployment.
My grandfather owned a small tea shop in the small town of Arki situated in the country side of Himachal Pradesh. He was second born to Amma. Four followed in coming years. With the 5 siblings my father was grown up in the small town.  Despite the poverty my grandmother (Amma) imparted him best possible moral teachings possible.  Though she had only studied till 5th class,  she believes that education is as important as 2 time meals. Despite her poverty she admitted all her six children in the local primary school.(which will prove to be her greatest gift for the entire family).  Her moral teachings and unconditional love will not go to unawarded.
My father joined school in 1963. Immediately he proved his talents and devotion to study in all subjects especially maths. He wanted to support his mother in every way. Soon he started gaining scholarships after scholarships (I have to hide my face when compared to him).  He was never dependent on others for his education.
It was not that easy. Lots of ups and downs came in his life. My father knows that he would also have to support family in some way.
There were many times they couldn’t able to afford 2 square meals. My father along with tau(his bigger brother) and Amma had to cut their stomach to be able to feed the younger once.
My grandfather was not so good.  What I can say? He did not care for his family when they needed him the most. The income from the small tea shop was usually spent on his cigarettes or his love for  non veg. He is not in this world now. But memories he have left behind are not happy once.
With such responsibility I don’t think any child would feel like continuing his education. But my father don’t let this stop him. Even the desire to change the circumstances of the family become the greatest motivation in his life.
There were some very depressing time. Like one time he needed to purchase a practical file for his school. But grandmother has no money for it. He was told to submit the file next day only. He purchased 1 kilo of jaggery for 20 paise(1 rupee = 100 paise). He spent entire evening cutting it in shape of toffees and wrapped them in pieces of newspaper.  He went to market to sell them for 3 paise each. Till the dead at night he sold them all an earned around 45 paise. That was his first income.  He finally buied file for 35 praise and gave the rest to his mother.
Such dedication I don’t think is possible for me.  I shall prefer not going to school the next day. But my father thinks entirely different. He believes that not submitting work on time will raise questions to your dedication.
When Papa reached 8th class the family shifted to a bigger town Bilaspur. My grandfather rented a small general store. Usually my father had to help in the store after the break. He had to usually miss periods after the break.( i always feel a little guilt when I bunk for hanging out with my friends). Despite of teacher’s complaints, my father study with full heart. Because of his hard work, he stood 4th in Himachal Board Exam of 8th class.
When he passed matrix (10th class), an important decision was waiting for him. In India after 10th students have to choose from 3 disciplines – Humanities, Science Or Commerce.  My father wanted to take commerce. It was his dream.  But at that time Commerce was not offered at his school and of course he can’t afford to go in some big city.  So killing his dream he opted for Humanities and pursues BA (Bachelor Of Arts) in political science. That was hard time for him.  He always wanted to pursue Commerce. But he studied whatever he got with full day devotion for his family and topped in second year of college.
2 months after the results he got the call that will change his life forever.  He was selected for a job in the government. He was really happy at that time. Completing his education he immediately joined the job and family shifted to Delhi.
In the free time,  he decided to pursue his dream. He started studying commerce.  Without any tuition or coaching he passed the entrance test for ICWA ( bachelor degree in commerce) in the first attempt. (My sister has passed this test in 3rd attempt even after getting the best coaching available).
On completing ICWA, he was promoted to the rank of the officer and everything changed forever.
It may feel like a made up story. But it is the true story of my father. 25 years later he have 2 children (me and my elder sister).
Father has given us a life full of love,  dreams and luxuries.  He has tried to give us everything that he can’t get in his childhood. May be he is not Steve Jobs or Mahatma Gandhi but to us he is a man born for greatness and source of endless inspiration.
Thank you papa for everything.  I promise one day you will be proud of me as I am proud of you.(it is one of my main inspiration for started blogging).
    Papa Achche(papa is best)
Many many thanks to you also for reading. Enjoy your life but never forget what your parents have done for you.
      Have a blissful life

See beyond the eye

We learned a lot about the Moon, but what we really learned was about the Earth. The fact that just from the distance of the Moon you can put your thumb up and you can hide the Earth behind your thumb. Everything that you’ve ever known, your loved ones, your business, the problems of the Earth itself—all behind your thumb. And how insignificant we really all are, but then how fortunate we are to have this body and to be able to enjoy loving here amongst the beauty of the Earth itself.

— Jim Lovell, Apollo 8 & 13 astronaut, interview for the 2007 movie In the Shadow of the Moon

Living your life on this planet can you keep everything behind your thumb. Can you say that everything around you or inside you is insignificant? Your family,  friends, your video games,  smartphone,  drawing book – your entire life. Can this all be insignificant?
Of course not. Your life is a gift from almighty.  So are your family and friends.
A single life can be so big,  so complex,  so much to discover.  Let this all be multiplied by 7 billion (population of the world). Earth has so much in it.  It has so many different experiences,  so many stories,  so many souls- so much worth.
Yet an astronaut standing on moon sees what,  a small sphere which he can hide behind his thumb. All the people,  their stories,  history of millions of years can be hidden behind a thumb.
Isn’t that amazing. It clearly proves the fact that there is much more to the universe that a naked eye can see.
It is not important what we see,  how we see it and how we interpret it is important.
Yesterday,  when I was going to attend a wedding,  our car got trapped in traffic jam. The jam was caused due to 3 buses that are taking two third of the road and moving with the speed of the sloth. It was really irritating.  Looking at the buses I remembered similar incident but that had happened in GTA Vice City(a violent video game).  At that time, I had got out of my car and blasted the f*****g bus with a rocket launcher.  That had felt awesome.  I imagined to do the same thing here also(thanks god Papa don’t keep rocket launcher in his car).
The paint of the window panels of the bus was dark and I was not able to see inside the bus. But as our car move closer I saw a faint shadow of a mother with her child clutched to her inside the bus. Suddenly,  I realised what I was thinking a moment ago.  How wrong and sinful it will be.  In my guilt, I spent rest of the journey in silence.
This incidence tells us that the human nature is such that we depends on our eyes too much. Eye is most important sense of human beings, but we should not forget what makes us human. Our rational thinking and our ability to understand beyond what our senses can tell us.
Everything we see,  we hear,  taste, touch or feel has as much deeper meaning than it appears to be. I am sure you have heard the phrase ” behind the scenes “.
Let us take an example of a hit movie.  Imagine that you are waiting for its screening in front of your tv. But before begging the screening they give a little intro of how the movie is made. How the writer got the inspiration for story? How the director imagined it? The hard work of the entire team.
So the movie for which you just have to on tv have not dropped from the sky. It is the result of the passion and hard work of many which you can’t see.
If you give a little thought to it, you will find that there are various levels of this behind the scenes. Like for the film hard work of the entire team along with latest technology is required. For this technology you require genius minds. And such geniuses can only be humans in this planet. For humans to live,  air, water and food is required. For these elements are required which comes from almighty himself.(all things lead to him in the end).
The basic idea is we should not be blinded by our eyes(wow that sounds ironic).  There can be a whole world behind it.  Try to see beyond your eyes. May be you can find something worth appreciating.
A thing that one of my teacher told me holds great value in my life. He told me ” Whenever you decide something is boring and not worth your time, Try to bear it  for just 10 minutes. And then decide again. I am sure you will find something interesting “
I have experimented in many things and found it very true(like in reading or blogging or programming.  I love them now ).  It has helped me in many subjects which I should have despised.
Everything weather how stupid it looks or how boring it feels,  is the creation of almighty and can have a great history or hard work of many.  Can such a thing cannot worth your time. Learn to appreciate these things.  Don’t be a fool to think that something is rubbish.
Aesthetics is one of the basic and most important quality of human race.  If you can’t love something,  can’t appreciate something you will not be able to feel true happiness.  Even to master any discipline like history,  philosophy,  IT or physics,  you need to first learn to appreciate it.
See any book of any subject weather sciences or humanities or arts anything,  in the initial chapter you will always find introduction or background or history of that subject. Why it is given? Why not directly come to the main topics. It is because they want to first capture your interest.  To tell you that it has not come out of the sky.  It has a history and hard work of many behind it. It is worthy of your attention.
Try to be more than just a watcher.  Be an observer.  Be an interpreter.  Be aesthetic.  Try to look beyond your eyes. It will make you a better person as well as a better learner.
With this let us end this article.  I hope you like it and you appreciate it’s meaning.  All the best for your life.

A small divine intervention

I am a firm believer in god. May be I can’t call them a great devotee of krishna. But still I try to remember him atheast once in a day. But as in the nature of every human being,  we usually take for granted things that we can get easily. We start ignoring them. In our busy life we forget that they even exist.
I am no exception to this. Last week proved to be a really long week for me. I gave my internal exams.  5 subject 5 days back to back. It was a really tiring week. Syllabus was almost full with no holiday in between.
But I was confident in my preparations and did good in first three exams. I was confident that next exam will also pass away like other three. So I went to hang out with my friends and got home late in the evening.  But that confidence proved to be over confidence. I was like blown away that next was Software Engineering.  I was in the wrong assumption that next was Java (which I can top without opening the book).  And was SE the subject dread. OMG I am dead.
I haven’t open the notes of SE in the entire semester.  I became too afraid.  I was not able to handle pressure at that time and took a novel and start reading it. I accepted that there is no point in studying. I am tired and syllabus is too much.Alas!  I will fail tragically.
I went to sleep early.  But I was very restless.  I woke up at 3 am from a bad dream. I realise that I was really thirsty and went to kitchen in the dead of the night.
I was confused why the night bulb of veranda was off. As soon as I went out of my room.  I saw the temple of our house.  It’s light was on. It shouldn’t be. (god sleeps too).
But as I got near I was astonished by its beauty.  The idols of the gods look majestic like the glow is coming from them. I sit in front of the temple and chant a small prayer. The peace I got at that time cannot be described in words. It was soo peaceful with complete silence ans no one to disturb. I took out my phone and captured some photos.

Isn’t it something? Suddenly realized I felt very fresh.  I felt rejenuated. It was an amazing feeling.  I looked at the clock. It was quarter past 3 but I was in no mood of sleeping.  So why not study a little bit? I thought I can atheast try.  There is still 6 hrs for exam to begin.
I switched of the temple ‘s bulb and went to my desk. I went through important topics.  Though SE is a complete theory subject (I such in craming up),  I realised it has a nice pattern and logic to it.  May be I should have tried to study it before. It is not so bad.
The next day I went to the exam with a little bit of confidence.  Miraculously most of the questions that came,  I have studied last night only.  I wrote whatever I know in the best way possible.
When I came out I have a smile of satisfaction on my face. Though I will not get 30( full marks),  not even 25.  But I am surely to get above 20. That is more than enough for me.
When I went home,  I came to know that my sister have forgot to switch of the temple’s light last night. She have never  forgot this in my memory.  So why only last night? Why questions paper is full of questions that I have studied? How I got so much peace to in a restless night?
There is a high chance that this all is a coincidence. But in my heart I believe it something much greater.  Something much more powerful.
I believe it is a blessing from him.  The one who rules this universe.  The one who is the programmer of all things in the mighty the universe.
I realised that beside last night I have never remembered lord Krishna in the entire week. My ego has misted my thinking. I got too proud of myself.  I forgot god even exists.
But he never forgot me. He come to me when I most needed. He gave peace to my restless soul. He gave courage to me in time of fear.
This may be a small thing.  It was just an exam(that too internal). But it has given me a story to tell. It has given me a moral teaching that I will remember all my life. Never take anything for granted.
Tell me can you remember last time you visited a nearby Temple( church/gurudwara/masjid wherever you go). If you can very good.  If you cannot please find a little time for him. He has given you air,  water,  earth,  family,  this beautiful life but the greatest treasure he has hidden in himself that is peace.
Thank you for reading.  Hope this was worth your time.  Don’t forget to share your thoughts.

Dilemma in wisdom -Gandhi’s 3 wise monkeys

From our childhood we are told to always take the right path . Never to think evil – never to see evil, never to say evil, never to hear evil.

image

         Gandhi’s 3 wide monkeys
(Though a 4th should be added-
              Never to post evil )

But I don’t think that I is really as easy as it seems. Even this is not entirely practically possible. Let us say,  we promise not to see evil, not speak evil, not hear evil. But how do we know of something is evil of we just close our senses top it.
We don’t really taste or touch or smell something to know it is evil. Do we? If we just close our eyes, ears and mouth how do we can recognize something around us is evil. If we can’t recognize that something is evil than how do can we protect our self and people stupid us from it. Even
Let us take a real life example. Suppose, you are walking around a park. You see some men are molesting a girl at a corner of the park. She looks towards you with pleading eyes. She called up you for help. Now you have a choice in this situation.
Remember your duties of a good citizen and rush to help her. Or close your eyes close your ears and leave. Close your mouth and don’t tell anyone. Forget it ever happened.
What do you think is the right thing to do? The first option or the later . What you think if Gandhi ji was at your place has done. Of course he had rush to immediately to help the girl. Hasn’t he ? (After all he is Gandhi for some reason) .
So the wisdom of three wide monkeys is wrong? Are we fools to follow it? Are we giving wrong teachings to our kids? If you think do I am story I completely disagree with you?
The above interpretation is completely wrong of we see it in context of present time.
Everything have to evolve south time. If someone or something refused to evolve it will be deleted to nothing ? Let us not let gandhi’s dear monkeys die.
Probably at the time of gandhi it was enough to hide evil from children to save then from evil. But the world has changed? Today a child has thousands sources to know about them.
If you do not discuss with your children the evils of society , this will only increase their curiosity. They will consider the other sources which usually do not show the true face of evil .They will fall for its allure and will unable to see the negative, the bad things behind it. They will be unable to see the true face of evil.
Children secret watching porn is a very common example of this.
The mission of the 3 wise monkeys is not to teach hide the evil or how to ignore the evil. That is evil itself . Their true mission is to show the people the true face of evil , to discourage them not to follow it.
When the first money closes his mouth, he is not telling to remain silent when evil is happening before you. Rather he is telling you to not to join yourself. It is telling not to say ill words that can hurt someone.
When second and third monkeys closes their eyes and ears. They are not telling you to close your eyes and ears in front of evil happening before you. They are rather telling you not just see what is happening . They are telling you to refuse to accept that. Refuse to accept that this can happen in society we live in. Refuse to accept that you have to hear or see such evil.
Correct interpretation is more important than meaning.
Nerd of the time is to accept the reality of today’s world and to understand the true wisdom of three wide monkeys.
The end goal is same but the means have to be changed. Hiding evil will not gonna work. Children should be taught about the evil ,its true true nature and its bad affected from the right sources.
That is it. The article is finished but if you are a patent. Your work starts here.
    Thank you for reading.
